Ad campaign encourages Irish people to get away from it all in Sligo
Sligo is seriously topical just now! It’s a big part of Fáilte Ireland’s spring advertising campaign for the Wild Atlantic Way. It’s all about ‘getting away from it all’ and ‘discovering’ which is exactly what we offer here on Sligo Food Trail. The campaign emphasises the opportunity for Irish people to discover Sligo and the west coast and truly get away from it all along the Wild Atlantic Way. Our Sligo Food Trail video Taste the Sea was bang on trend.
The Fáilte Ireland ad, which includes footage of Mullaghmore in Co. Sligo, will be accompanied by advertising across national and local radio, outdoor, online and social media channels and will run until 19th March.
The home market is really important for tourism – nearly 5 million holiday trips were taken last year and that generated a whopping €1.13 billion. Irish people accounted for just over half of all hotel nights in Ireland in 2017. Come on everyone discover Sligo, especially Sligo Food Trail, this year.
