Between Easter bunnies, Easter egg hunts and Golden Tickets, Sligo Food Trail is just a hive of activity this Easter weekend. Check out some of the highlights and make a note of those times – you don’t want to miss ANY of the fun.
Shells Surf Cafe in Strandhill are making it very easy for visitors – they’re open from 9am-7pm all weekend from Good Friday right through to Easter Monday. Don’t miss their magnificent ‘Malt’ Teaser Bunny Latte special running for the holidays.
Easter Saturday morning is Market time. Hop to it down to Beltra Country Market where from 10am-12noon there’s a fabulous Easter egg hunt and Easter bonnet competition. For all ages we’re told so everyone should get dressed in their Easter best.
Also beginning at 10am on Easter Saturday, Rathcormac Artisan Food & Craft Market are hosting an Easter Egg Hunt. Fun for everyone.
Later on, at 9.30pm on Easter Saturday Laura’s of Carney will have a fabulous live Easter session with Kerrie Herrity Lenehan & friends. They’ll be open for lunch Italian style-on Easter Sunday from 12.30p.m. till 3.30p.m. then open for dinner from 5pm on both Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday.
Sinergie Restaurant at the Clayton Hotel have a very special Easter Sunday planned. First of all lunch with a lovely three course meal (€24 adult, €12.95 child). Then, it’s time to brush off the cobwebs and bring your little Eggsplorers along to the Easter Egg Hunt starting at 4pm
Strandhill People Market have wonderful creative day on Bank Holiday Monday. It’s part of Cruinniú na Cásca, a CreativeIrl initiative. Free, family-friendly events in will celebrate culture and creativity in contemporary Irish society. They’re promising everything from live music with Turn It On, screen printing with Pulled, street art performances by Cillian Rogers and live spray art with Cormac Cullinan. Keep an eye out for even more entertainment to be announced.

It’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory time over at Lyon’s Cafe Bakeshop. These clever people have hidden 5 Golden Tickets in their homemade Easter Eggs. The lucky winners get dessert and coffee for two in their brand new dessert cafe.
At the chocolate shop and baking emporium Le Fournil, there are chocolate temptations to thrill the taste buds. Their Easter Delight is a light chocolate mousse with a vanilla crème brulee centre and a chocolatey base. Mmmm
Back in Strandhill Mamma Johnston’s have an all in Easter confection consisting of a chocolatey, ice creamy, Easter eggy dessert. It’ll take quite the applied chocoholic to polish one of those off.
