Sligo Food Trail members were delighted to attend the launch of new brand Sligo.ie in The Model Sligo last Thursday. Members included Lough Gill Brewery, Dr. Prannie Rhatigan and Irish Seaweed Kitchen, Eala Bhan Restaurant, Sligo Oyster Experience, WB’S Coffee House, Osta Café and Wine Bar, The Glasshouse Hotel and Café Fleur who showcased our local producers, chefs and top-quality ingredients available here on our doorstep.

Sligo.ie aims to highlight all that the county has to offer to encourage people to move to, invest in or visit Sligo. Business, investment and community stakeholders have come together to produce three promotional videos and the launch of a new Sligo tourism brochure and website.

The promo videos feature a young family who have relocated to Sligo and an entrepreneur originally from Dublin who now runs a successful business here. The third video captures the epic scenery on offer around the county and collectively they show the attractive work-life balance that can be enjoyed while living in Sligo.

The brand was launched by Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council, Cllr Tom MacSharry at an event held in the contemporary Arts centre and gallery at The Model Sligo. The event also featured talented Sligo musicians and guest speaker John Concannon, Vice-President NUIG and a proud Sligo ambassador.
