Our Mission

Sligo food trail is the coming together of people whose passion it is,  to promote everything that is Food related in the County of Sligo. The trails ambition is to create, highlight and promote Sligo’s ever growing food culture and promote it further globally as a Foodie Destination. As a County we are blessed with fabulous food and drink producers,  artisan cafes and restaurants, weekly markets, a high quality and variety of accommodation providers to suit all tastes.

Steps to Membership

  1. Please read criteria
  2. Pay the membership fee: Producer €100, Market €200, Café (small) €150, Café €200, Restaurant €200 (Seasonal), Restaurant €250, Gastro Pub/Beverages €250, Wine Shop €150, Guesthouse/ B&B €250, Hotel €350, Experience €100 and Associate Member €100
  3. To Sligo Food Trail Credit Union Account: IE51SLRU99210410796284 BIC SLRUIE21
  4. Please use your business name as a reference.
  5. On receipt of fee, you will receive a membership form to complete and submit imagery to our database
  6. Deadline for joining for 2024 & 2025 is 30th June.
  7. Membership runs for 18 months, 1st July 2024 – 31st December 2025
  8. There is a €50 discount if you own two businesses.

Current members of the Sligo Food Trail

New to 2024/2025

  • Involvement in Summer, Autumn, Christmas and launch campaign of 2025 season.
  • Autumn Campaign: A 4–6-week calendar of events from end of September up to Halloween.
  • Christmas Campaign Promotion of shop local campaign and Christmas gift guide.
  • Social media will be active during campaign times. With content shared from members tags in between campaigns.
  • The creation of the training plan
  • Two networking events
  • Training events – courses agreed by survey
  • Familiarisation visit to another network
  • Three internal familiarisation visits

Additional actions will be added once we have membership funding in place.

The Sligo Food Trail is currently applying for funding for a new website and content.

  • Listing on the Website
  • Badge: Window Sticker to promote your membership
  • Access to artwork i.e. logos, members badges for use on your print and online marketing
  • Promotion of your business by social media platforms i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram at key campaign times, and sharing of tags.
  • Promotion of your Food Experiences i.e. dates for booking on social media and the website
  • Use of the #SligoFoodTrail
  • Access to promotional material for your events and launches i.e. banners and signage of the Sligo Food Trail
  • Opportunity to guest blog about your business on the website

As a member of the Sligo Food Trail you will be exposed to

  1. Online marketing on the Sligo Food Trail Website. A new website is being developed for 2023/ 2024.
  2. Be a live part of the ever growing development and promotion of Sligo as foodie destination
  3. Help develop and grow Sligos food culture
  4. Have access to other members , which will become your friends and share experiences which will help develop your business
  5. Have a dedicated membership officer to answer all queries
  6. Sligo food trail will host online and live audience members nights which will be an opportunity to promote products, marketing strategies, cookery demonstrations etc
