Café’s, Restaurants and Hotels across the counties of Sligo, Leitrim & Donegal are making a difference this week by getting involved in North West Simon Community’s ‘Soup for Simon’ campaign. The aim of the campaign is to give someone who is homeless, or at risk of being homeless, the stability, support and safety they need to make a fresh start.

For the duration of the campaign, €1 from every bowl of soup sold in the participating businesses will be donated to North West Simon Community. This small action has the potential to make a powerful impact on those in need. All proceeds will be used effectively and transparently to prevent and resolve homelessness here in Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal. Last year alone 371 individuals benefitted from the housing and homeless prevention services in the North West.

The campaign runs until Sun 10th Nov and there are a number of Sligo Food Trail members participating in the campaign. Shells Sea Side Bakery Café, Osta Cafe and Wine Bar, Sligo Park Hotel, Hargadons , Davis’s Restaurant @ The Yeats Tavern, Cawley’s Hotel Tubbercurry and Sligo Wellness Centre. So, pop into any of these over the weekend, grab a warm bowl of soup and enjoy knowing you are supporting a worthy cause.
